Country Energy is a large gas and electricity provider, with more than 4,000 employees and close to 900,000 customers. Country Energy is also an energy distributor, owning around 200,000 kilometres of powerlines and 1.4 million power poles throughout the country. They are owned by the NSW Government.

Country Energy has a decentralised approach to supplying energy, with different plans and structures depending on the customer's location. As well as being a utilities provider, Country Energy also provides some customers with water supplies, internet services and energy management.

In New South Wales, Country Energy also offers natural gas and LPG services, which are much cleaner sources of energy. They produce nearly three quarters less greenhouse gas emissions than electricity power that comes from coal generators.
