Jackgreen was the only Australian electricity supplier that sold solely GreenPower accredited products. Jackgreen was endorsed by Planet Ark, one of the country's leading not-for-profit environmental organisations which aims to show individuals and businesses how to reduce their impact on the earth.

Jackgreen was involved with a number of environmental initiatives such as Planet Ark's Tree Day and National Recycling Week. They helped spread the message of climate change to the younger generation by providing copies of Al Gore's documentary, An Inconvenient Truth to every secondary school in the country. On their website, Jackgreen asked for the public's suggestions on ways in which they could assist in helping local communities in other ways.

Jackgreen did not supply gas to Australian homes but they had been awarded licenses to do so in NSW and South Australia. Jackgreen was in the process of obtaining a licence to retail electricity in the ACT.

Jackgreen was a public company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and was based in Sydney. They acquired Easy Being Green in 2008.
