company overview
In June 2006 Our Neighbourhood Energy received its Victorian electricity retail licence from the Essential Services Commission of Victoria. Our Neighbourhood Energy was started up by John Shires and Jeff Donley and was initially set up as a local community-focused electricity company where its customers could donate their electricity bill discounts to a range of special community projects in Victoria.
The company shortened its name to Neighbourhood Energy in December 2008 and over time focused less on community projects and more on expanding into a more generalist energy company.
can you switch to neighbourhood energy with switchwise?
You used to be able to switch your electricity supply to Neighbourhood Energy using Switchwise but from November 2012 Neighbourhood Energy is not accepting new customers. However, you can compare Alinta Energy prices across a selection of their power and gas plans.
