If you apply to switch your energy supplier via our website and later decide that you do not want to switch to your newly chosen supplier you are free to cancel your application. But make sure you act quickly - by law you have a 10 business day cooling-off period during which you can change your mind and cancel your request to switch suppliers without any termination fees.
If you wish to cancel your switch after the 10 day cooling-off period has expired then you may incur early termination fees if you have chosen a fixed term contract plan with your new supplier. However, if you have chosen a no fixed term contract then you would be free to cancel at any time without termination fees applying.
To cancel your switch request you must contact your newly chosen supplier directly. Your order confirmation email includes details on how to cancel your request.
If you are moving home and decide to cancel your agreement before the 10 day cooling-off period but after you have moved in and your power/gas has been connected then you can still cancel but you might be charged the connection fee. The connection fee is charged to your new supplier by your local distributor so it would be unfair if you could avoid paying the fee for a cost already incurred!
